When Ben's father suddenly died last summer, the first number he dialed was ours. Chabad has a track record for helping others, no matter whom, where, or when. People know they can count on the Chabad network when they need it most. Our staff is always on-call with hospital visits, assistance in the job market, connecting people with pro-bono physicians or whatever is needed at the moment.
The local Jewish holiday magazine promotes Jewish awareness and holiday joy.
Jewish Seniors Club
We provide the schmooze club for seniors at Leisure World.
Jewish Calendar Project
We print and distribute 5000 free Jewish wall-calendars.
The foundation of our Jewish holiday observance, and community life, is based on the Jewish (lunar) calendar. Putting Jewish calendars in our homes is one of the first steps in promoting Jewish life in our local community.
Now an annual event, Menorah @ Seal Beach brings the warmth and spirit of Chanukah to the young and old of our community. The free event offers live music, traditional Chanukah foods, and the grand lighting of a gaint Menorah. The event is free and open to the public and paid for by Chabad of Los Alamitos.
Matzo and Holiday Meals
We provide free Matzah and arrange free meals for locals who have no family or friends.
Traveling Student Rabbis
Each summer we bring student rabbis to our community, they visit, teach, and most importantly learn from locals what the needs of the community are. Much of our data and programming is based on these visits.
